Olukai is a brand that stands for much more than just stylish footwear; it represents a way of life deeply rooted in the spirit of Hawaii. With a commitment to quality, comfort, and sustainability, Olukai has gained a dedicated following worldwide. But where did this remarkable brand originate, and what makes their shoes so special?

The Birth of Olukai

The story of Olukai begins on the shores of Hawaii. Founded in 2005, the brand drew inspiration from the island's rich culture and respect for the environment. The name "Olukai" itself reflects this connection, as it translates to "comfort ocean" - a perfect reflection of the brand's mission to provide comfortable footwear for those who love the water.

Crafting Olukai Shoes

Materials Used

One of the hallmarks of Olukai shoes is the exceptional quality of materials used in their construction. These materials are not only chosen for their durability but also for their eco-friendliness. From premium full-grain leather to recycled polyester, every element is carefully selected to minimize the environmental footprint.

Handcrafted Excellence

What truly sets Olukai apart is the craftsmanship that goes into each pair of shoes. While modern technology plays a role, many aspects of production are done by hand. This dedication to detail ensures that every Olukai shoe meets the brand's high standards for comfort and quality.

Sustainable Practices

Olukai is deeply committed to sustainability. They are a Certified B Corporation, meaning they meet rigorous standards for social and environmental performance. The brand actively supports initiatives to preserve Hawaii's natural beauty and works to minimize its carbon footprint throughout the manufacturing process.

Label inside shoe says made in China. When I started wearing these shoes 10-15 years ago, they were made in Hawaii and were better quality. At the time, they really did feel like walking on a cloud. In fact, they were the most comfortable shoe I could find to help me survive plantar fasciitis. It’s time to replace them once again (I wear them all the time in warm weather)—my fourth pair. However, now, every pair I have tried on, from stores and from OluKai directly, is substandard. They are stiff, and without as much arch support or cushioning as previously. I can’t tell you how many people I sent their way and hope they purchased before the drop in quality. Very disappointed in OluKai and looking for a replacement. Anyone suggest a replacement shoe?
